Practice Golf with a Plan

Practice Golf with a Plan
Low scores in golf do not come overnight. Contrary to what some fancy device manufactures may say, it takes time and practice to become a "good" golfer. Unless you're a born natural, which the majority of us are not, golf takes dedication, practice, and time to perfect all aspects of the game.
Your health may be the most important part of your golf game. Having the proper flexibility to make the proper shoulder turn and follow through are necessary to have a free flowing swing. Keeping your joints well lubricated with proper nutritional fluids will add longevity to your golf game.
Whether you're playing a round of golf or practicing, make sure you stretch and warm up before swinging the club. Also, before and during your practice session or round, drink plenty of fluids.
I personally recommend OptimaFlex and Optima4 from TriVita. Both of these highly nutritious drinks will supply you with the proper joint lubrication, hydration, energy, and focus you need during your round or practice session.
Speaking of practice, take the advice I took when first taking up the game; work on the things you're having trouble with. If your putting and chipping are good but you're driving is off, then work on driving. Use your practice session to improve your game.
Always have a plan when you're practicing. Practice with a purpose. It is of no value at all to stand on a range and just beat golf balls! There is also no value in practicing if you don't have a plan and you're not focused. You are just wasting time.
The best players in the world have very specific routines that they do on a daily basis. Again, if you're practicing and not playing golf, then you are working on mechanics. If you're warming up to play golf, then the focus is on target acquisition.
Remember low scores come from dedication and practice. So, Practice with a purpose. Drink plenty of fluids, especially ones that are highly nutritional. And respect the game!

Franchise for Sale

Franchise for Sale
Franchise owners today have a number of options when deciding how they would like to market and advertise their business franchise for sale. This includes going the "for sale by owner" route which has advantages and disadvantages. The biggest disadvantage being the potential loss of confidentiality and the possible negative effects it may have on the business and its chances of selling. The biggest advantage of a "for sale by owner" transaction is the owner obviously is not responsible for paying a commission to a Business or franchise Broker.
The most common option franchise owners choose when selling a franchise is to hire a professional business or franchise broker to handle the sale. Most brokers are only paid a commission after the sale is completed, so there is usually no upfront expenses. They are also familiar with their local market and buyer demands, and can help maintain confidentiality as well as prepare and price a business for sale so that it has a good chance of attracting a qualified buyer.
As far as advertising, most brokers also employ a number of local and national "business for sale" web sites that can give a listing maximum & confidential exposure to prospective buyers. They also commonly work (or co-broke) with other professional brokers in their area that might have a prospective buyer for your business.
If you're planning on putting your franchise up for sale, it's important to let your franchisor know. Most franchisor's have explicit rules regarding the transfer of franchise unit to new ownership including buyer qualifications, disclosures, transfer fees, etc. So make sure you read your franchise agreement thoroughly. Most franchisor's can also be very helpful in the consummation of the resale and may even have a prospective buyer on file who has expressed an interest in your specific location or territory.

Ice Cream Franchise Opportunities

Ice Cream Franchise Opportunities
I just got back from getting ice cream so I thought I would take a look at ice cream opportunities. Although we did have ice cream at a franchise, when it comes to ice cream we all can relate to Dairy Queen. Dairy Queen has been the ice cream icon and one of the most popular franchise opportunities of its time.
Many ice cream franchise opportunities followed Dairy Queen's lead, like Baskin & Robbins, Ben & Jerry's, Hershey's, and one of the latest in recent memory, Stone Cold Creamery. I'm sure there are plenty of other ice cream franchise opportunities, and I apologize for the ones I have missed.
Buying an ice cream franchise might be one of the best opportunities an entrepreneur can find. But as with all business decisions, it is critical to carefully research the market, all options, and to make the decision with the facts and figures collected. Don't rely on making this decision based on one's taste buds. Making an investment in a business that will succeed typically starts with research and gathering data. Do not by-pass this important step.
The next step to take before purchasing an ice cream franchise is to request information from several chains. The advantage of buying a franchise as opposed to starting a business from scratch is that investors buy into a proven business formula with strong corporate backing and a proven product. The prospective buyer needs to compare franchises to evaluate business structure, amount of investment needed, and level of ongoing corporate support. Most importantly, entrepreneurs must make sure of the quality of the product for each ice cream franchise opportunity of interest.
The next step should be to begin gathering data to determine if the market is strong enough to support an additional ice cream franchise in the area of interest. If entrepreneurs are opening ice cream franchises in areas with cold winters, it's best to account for seasonal fluctuations in sales. They need to ask the franchisor to present the information they have done which shows that the area can support another ice cream franchise. It is in the corporation's best interests to ensure that their stores succeed, so potential owners will likely have done research to assure a strong local customer base.
Finally, do you have the finances to invest into an ice cream franchise opportunity? Finding the proper investors or financing may take longer than you think. If you're going after investors, they can contact trade groups in the ice cream industry for statistics related to ice cream franchises that can assist with the final decision. Entrepreneurs may have to pay a small fee for the data, but these groups provide data about how much ice cream is consumed and purchased at an ice cream franchise versus restaurants and fast-food vendors.
Those who are satisfied that the market will support an additional ice cream franchise and that the investor has located a franchisor with whom they feel a strong business relationship is possible, they can move on to the other logistics of starting the business. Luckily, by purchasing a franchise, the owner will receive a wealth of guidance and proven best-practices to follow when starting up.
As I mentioned earlier, I did not get my ice cream this evening from an ice cream franchise, but it did bring up the idea for this post, and my thoughts about ice cream franchise opportunities. The reason I mention that is because the ice cream industry may have more successful independent ice cream businesses in the U.S.A. than any other industry. Although this is NOT a proven fact, just drive up and down the main roads in your community and see how many ice cream franchises there are versus independent ice cream businesses. Go ahead, do your own research!

Franchise - Following the System

Franchise - Following the System
From my research through talking to franchisees, it's my understanding that franchising demands that you follow the system. So, whether the franchise you’re looking at is a major food brand or a low-cost home based franchise, it's a must that you're a team player. You must be willing to follow the rules in a rather independent fashion. So, if changing the way things are done is among your favorite pastimes, think seriously about another form of self-employment. Chances are, if you buy a franchise, you won't be happy with even the best franchise money can buy. (And by the way, if you find a franchise without a proven way of doing business, run the other way.) The best franchises in the world have the best systems. It's that simple!
Here is an example of what I'm talking about. My good friend owns a Two Men and a Truck franchise. You may know what I'm talking about, the moving truck with the caricature logo of two men sitting in a truck. He always complained that his hands were tied when he wanted to expand or move someone outside of his protected area. The franchisor had their rules and regulations about such things so he was unable to expand his business. It seemed like he was restricted to following the system. I've had many conversation with him and he was not a happy camper.
This type of story is all too common within the franchise industry. It's very important to choose the franchise business that is right for you. You may have heard me say this over and over again, but I cannot stress this fact enough. If you're so independent or you cannot follow the rules, franchising is not for you. If you're the type of person I just mentioned, start your own business, or buy a small independent business where you have total control. Choosing a franchise when you're not a team player can make your life very stressful.
Even if it's only on paper, the best franchise opportunity will produce a stressful life if it is not for you. You probably won't last in a business that you don't like, and you definitely won't be happy showing up every day. This happens time and time again, so find a venture that you love. Don't be part of the adult population that is unhappy at work. The only reason they stick to their job is because they get a paycheck. And that paycheck allows them to go about the rest of their lives. On the other hand, he entrepreneur never leaves their business (mentally); it is constantly on their mind.
Take it from me, I owned a small business for 21 years, and everyday my mind was inundated with business. I did not have a franchise business. I was free to do my own thing. I made the rules as I went. I controlled everything. I was in charge. I was the business and the business was me. I created the system. If all of this sounds like that is what you would like to do, then by all means, start your own business and DO NOT buy a franchise. But let me caution you; it takes a lot of hard work, and a commitment beyond all commitments. It's your life!

Searching for the Right Franchise Opportunity

Searching for the Right Franchise Opportunity
Looking for a franchise opportunity, hang on to your hat? There are literally hundreds if not thousands of franchise opportunities available for you to invest in. Each franchise opportunity has its own benefits and typically the more you pay the more you have a chance to earn.
Franchising has increased dramatically during the last two decades and is quickly being recognized as one of the most effective ways of doing business. It combines the drive and ambition of an entrepreneur with the experience and expertise of a proven business model. Selecting a profitable business venture is the goal of all entrepreneurs, so it's important that you thoroughly research the franchise opportunity. Your research will make sure you're getting the right franchise opportunity for you.
In my opinion, a franchise opportunity that fits your financial situation is the best franchise opportunity for you. Some franchises require little more than the investment of a small franchise fee, while others require exhorbitant franchise fees, real estate investments, inventory and other asset purchases, employees, etc. The amount of money you have to invest will play a major role in what franchise opportunity you choose. In the event that your initial financing proves inadequate, make sure you have additional sources of financing, including friends and/or relatives who might be able to loan you money.
You may want to get the help of a franchise consultant before deciding on a franchise opportunity. Some franchises require that you own and operate your franchise while others allow you to hire a manager to run the business. A qualified consultant can help you with the research regarding which type of franchise is best for you. An experienced franchise consultant has typically been around many franchise opportunities, and they know what questions to ask the franchisor. It may cost you a little up front, but the long term benefits will be well worth it.
The right franchise opportunity for you is where you will be "natural" and love your work. The fastest way to success is to find a franchise opportunity that capitalizes on your strengths and minimizes the focus on your shortcomings.
Finding the right franchise opportunity that fits your passion, gifts, and financial situation may take some time. Finding that perfect franchise opportunity may turn into a wild ride. Be prepared! But make sure you go into the process with an open mind, because you never know where you will wind up. When one door closes another one will open. Be prepared to enter through that open door to see what type of opportunity lies ahead.

Franchises for Sale

Franchises for Sale
There are several franchise business directories offering lists of franchises for sale. These are a convenient way to do some initial research and learn what's involved with buying a franchise. You can typically sort by category (industry, investment, etc.).
Many directories have useful, insightful articles to help you make informed decisions when you go to buy a franchise. Read as much as you can and take notes on the different franchises for sale.
Bringing in an accountant to examine the books of an existing franchise for sale is very wise. Unless you have a detailed accounting background, get referrals from friends and business owners you trust for a qualified accountant who has some experience in business evaluations.
An accountant will review the franchise's financial statements and help you understand them. They can also help you develop a business plan. You might want to get a Dun & Bradstreet report on the franchisor. Your accountant should assess the earning projections made by the existing franchise for sale and help you understand the assumptions on which they are based.
Franchises are not for everyone. If you're someone who wants things done your own way all the time, you may be frustrated if you buy a franchise and need to do things a set way. Be aware of what requirements there are to running a franchise and make sure you are comfortable with them. Make sure you evaluate the franchisor carefully. Some are better than others.
As mentioned before, there are plenty of franchises for sale, just turn to the Internet and Google. You can find all the franchises for sale without leaving the comforts of your home. Researching franchise that are for sale takes time. Make sure you invest the time to find the right franchise business. It may save you grief in the long run.
Find the highly rated franchise directories that offer a list of franchises for sale, and spend your time going through the plethora of franchises on the list. If you have your mind made up on the type of franchise you would like to buy, start with that category. But remember, have an open mind, you never know where your research will lead you.

How is a Franchise Business Growing?

How is a Franchise Business Growing?
There are a variety of ways to evaluate a franchise businesses growth. So if you're looking for a franchise business and are interested in how that franchise business is growing, the following information may assist you in your evaluation.
A good measuring stick of growth is the number of new franchisees added each year. This information may not be readily available, so it may have to come directly from the franchisor. Also ask about the number of operational support people devoted to new franchisees. The ratio of support personnel to franchisee is important. This can be a good gauge of the growth of the franchise corporation, because the more franchises sold, the more support people you need. As problems or issues arise, you want to make sure that you will be supported.
One obvious fact regarding the number of franchisees added each year, if a franchisor has been in business for a number of years but has added very few franchisees, there may be issues or problems within their system. It's possible that current franchisees don't validate well due to those problems within the system, so it's possible that potential franchisees are rejecting them.
If that's not the case, the problem may be that the franchisor has insufficient staff to handle all the elements associated with getting a new franchisee up and running. This would cause them to reject a number of qualified applicants. Either way, a lack of new franchisees could mean that this isn't a solid or healthy franchise company.
With that said, what would be an acceptable number of new franchisees to be added each year? To keep things simple, the percentage of new franchisees to the number of total franchisees will give you a number that you can use for comparison. For example, if there are currently 30 franchisees, and they add 20 new franchisees in a year, they may be growing at a rate that is too rapid. This rapid growth could cause their undersized staff too be overwhelmed and not have time for new franchisees. This seems to be the most common problem with rapid growing companies.
Somewhere between 10 and 35 percent growth is a good number. This number is based on the current total number of franchisees. In other words, a franchise business company that has 100 franchisees should have the capabilities to add up to 35 new franchisees in the coming year. If a medium sized franchise company is working within this percentage, you can bet that they are a pretty solid company.
The formula listed above is typically for a medium sized franchise business company, and will probably not work for very large or very small companies. If that is the case, there is another number to take into consideration. That number would be the ratio of support personnel compared to new franchisees. On average, there should be one support person for every 10-20 new franchisees. If this is the case, the new franchisees should be getting adequate preparation and support to develop their businesses.
Finding a solid franchise company is just one step towards making your decision easier. After determining that this is a solid company, one you feel you are interested in, your next step would be to do research. This would entail calling and interviewing existing franchisees, or maybe even visiting some of the franchisees. You should also meet with and talk to the support staff. Another good place to gather information on a franchise is by searching Google. Goolge has links to all kinds of informational franchise business web sites and online forums. Plenty of information is available, all you have to do is search for it.
During your research, did you find any areas of concern? Did the support staff impress you? Were they helpful and knowledgeable? More than likely you will be spending a lot of time with the support staff, so it's important that you feel comfortable interacting with them. Get to know them and ask questions. Home Delivery - Buying a Franchise

Home Delivery - Buying a Franchise
There are plenty of franchise opportunities available, so buying a franchise is not a problem for many entrepreneurs. Other the other hand, finding the right franchise opportunity could be a problem. How about buying a franchise that is based on home delivery.
Home delivery franchises are companies that can be bought and operated by individuals. Home delivery franchises provide parcel delivery services for personal and business needs. This is a popular and potentially quite profitable opportunity that can be started by individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit. Although buying this franchise, with the current gas prices, might have some challenges.
Owning and operating a home delivery franchise allows people to buy a well-known name and take advantage of the franchisor's expertise in the market, including their market research, development, training, and advertising. The products the company chooses to deliver may range from everyday groceries, pet food, flowers, dry cleaning, and parcel post items. The convenience offered by this type of venture is not only obvious, in many households, it is essential. Many families now operate on a two-income, stretched-for-time schedule, and these people appreciate the ease offered through various companies.
When buying a franchise, many factors can help a person determine which company is the best choice for them. Considering that the delivery service will likely be in demand well into the future, a person’s investment is bound to be a wise one in the long run.
However, there are many questions to consider before jumping into any type of business investment. A person must know the track record for the home delivery franchise, not only in the local community, but also nationally. It's also important to know how much and what kind of support and training is offered by the company. One of the most important questions to seek answers to is the insurance regulations for the various home delivery franchises.
Buying a franchise, without having your questions answered, may leave you i a very stressful and lonely position. There are many franchises that tell you one thing and do something entirely different. During your research, and before buying a franchise, many of your questions will be answered. Some of those answers lead to other questions, which is part of the process of researching the franchise opportunity. A person cannot, or should not, go forward with a contractual agreement without doing the proper research.
Most people who consider investing in a delivery franchise opportunity have experience in some aspect of customer service and/or delivery. This background certainly helps people to know if they will be good at operating a home delivery franchise. If the individual has spent their career behind a desk and not interacting with people in a customer service role, they may want to consider working at least part-time in a retail establishment before launching this operation.
It is important to learn as much as possible about dealing with difficult people, laws that govern various employment practices, and everything else that will help make buying a franchise a successful endeavor. Before buying a franchise, do your research, and most importantly, take a personal inventory. Start with 2 simple questions: 1. Am I cut out for a franchise business? 2. Is buying a franchise the right decision for me? These 2 questions should lead you to making the right choice.
If money is an issue, you may want to consider an alternative to buying a franchise. The Ultimate Team provides information regarding a business alternative. Not everyone is cutout for a franchise business, and not everyone has the money to buy a franchise. If you fit that category and would still like to have your own business, one that is NOT a franchise, contact the Ultimate Team.

Choosing the Right Franchise Opportunity

Choosing the Right Franchise Opportunity
Franchises in 2008 total approximately 2500 in 18 industries ranging from automotive franchises to kids franchises to home based businesses to franchises for women. Is there one particular franchise industry that seems to be growing faster than another?
Franchises are an enormous part of our economy, and franchise opportunities are in abundance. If you think about it, I'll bet over 50% of all retail sales generated in the United States are generated by franchise businesses. Why do you suppose I feel that way? Because franchising allows multiple business owners to capitalize on the expertise of others.
Finding the right franchise opportunity is one of the most important things. If a person can find that franchise opportunity that is right for them, there are a few things they must consider before making an investment. Since there are so many types of franchise opportunities, the individual will want to choose the one that suits their interests and abilities. Choosing a franchise opportunity that suits their interests and abilities will make it easier to go to work every day. It will also help that person to be more committed to the business.
Also, it is important to look at all of the market information regarding each company. The individual will want to review all of the disclosure documentation for the franchise opportunity to make sure that it is a good industry or market to get into. Local competition is also a factor to consider.
No matter which company is chosen, it is important to get into a franchise opportunity for the right reasons. Money shouldn't be the only reason. Changing market trends can sometimes lead to rough times. "Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom". (Proverbs 23:4) It is important for an entrepreneur to remember that God gives everyone special talents. People should take pleasure in using them in their labor.
Keeping that in mind, it's very important to do an inventory of yourself even before looking into a franchise opportunity. You may find out that owning a franchise does not fit your personality. You may find out that God does not want you to invest your hard earned money into something you know absolutely noting about.
If you're a self starter and like to do things your own way, then you may want to steer clear of a franchise opportunity. Doing a personal inventory will reveal what you really want, and what God wants for you.

Franchises for Sale In Your Town?

Franchises for Sale In Your Town?
Many people dream of being an entrepreneur. Purchasing franchises, where you can sell goods and services that have instant name recognition and where you can obtain training and ongoing support to help you succeed, is very popular in this day and age. As a result, over 94% of franchisees consider themselves successful, over 75% of franchisees would buy their franchise again if they had it to do over, and their average pre-tax gross income is $ 124,290. In addition, more than 90% of franchised businesses are still open after 5 years, while less than 50% of non-franchised businesses are still open at the end of that timeframe.
Are there franchises for sale near you that could possibly transform your life by creating a new income source and a sense of accomplishment? It's possible!.
If you haven't noticed, there are plenty of franchises for sale, all you have to do is look around. Who knows, there may even be franchises for sale in your own town. It's very possible!
With all the different opportunities and alternatives available sometimes it's difficult to figure out which one is best for you. The place to start, Google. After searching Google under "franchises for sale", you'll want to do additional research on the company selling the franchise, the current owner of that franchise, and the franchisor. If you're ready for a franchise business of your own, you must understand what it takes to become successful in business. It also helps to understand how to choose which franchise is right for you.
Just because you found several franchises for sale that may be right for you, it does not mean one of them is right for you. Do you have the support of your spouse and/or family? Do you know what you're looking for in a franchise business? Do you have what it takes to run a business? Buying a franchise takes hard work and time to keep it successful (hopefully you'll buy a franchise that is successful). Do you have the time and energy to put forth the effort to stay successful?
These are just a few questions you can ask yourself. I'm sure once you got started, many more questions will start to surface. Buy answering questions, you can also get a real and genuine idea of the type of franchise business you're looking for. Take Wendy's for example. Buying a Wendy's franchise would take an exorbitant amount of money. How many people have a lot of cash sitting around that they would like to invest into a Wendy's franchise? Currently, Wendy's is not accepting any new franchise applications in the United States, so looking for Wendy's franchises that are for sale would be the only way you could get a Wendy's franchise.
On the other hand, Fatburger Restaurants has grown to a multi-restaurant chain with awesome growth potential. Starting with humble beginnings many years ago in the spotless kitchen of Ms. Lovie Yancey, her guests enjoyed her hamburgers so much that she was encouraged to share her unique recipe with the world. Ms. Yancey took their advice and opened her first restaurant in Los Angeles, in 1952.
Since there is awesome growth potential owning a Fatburger franchise, I believe you can either buy a new Fatburger franchise, or find some franchises for sale, maybe even in your own town. Whatever the case, there are plenty of franchises for sale. Wendy's and Fatburger are just two of the thousands of franchises for sale.
If you believe that a franchise is the way to go, then start with Google and type in the keyword phrase, franchises for sale. You'll find thousands of sites with information on a franchises for sale. You may even find franchises for sale in your own town.

Automotive Franchise Opportunities

Automotive Franchise Opportunities
Franchise Opportunities in 2008 total approximately 2500 in 18 industries ranging from automotive franchises to kids franchises to home based businesses to franchises for women. Is there one particular franchise industry that seems to be growing faster than another?
Lets take a quick look a automotive franchise opportunities.
Automotive franchises, such as auto parts or tire stores, have become a growing trend across the country for entrepreneurs who wish to run an automotive business. Several years ago, if a person wanted to get their car fixed, they would go up to the mom-and-pop gas station on the corner. The gas station would do everything from an oil change to a complete engine overhaul. Today, most gas stations are just that, gas stations. With the growing number of automotive franchise opportunities, there are now shops that specialize in tires, oil changes, tune-ups, or just sell auto parts. This has opened up many options to potential business owners. They can now choose to invest in an auto parts store, a car rental store, or an auto repair shop.
If you're up for a automotive franchise opportunity, before making the decision of which opportunity to invest in, potential business owners will want to consider if this is right for them. As a benefit, automotive franchise opportunities offer the support of the franchise headquarters. Inventory and parts can be obtained at cheaper rates through the headquarters as well. An automotive franchise requires much less local marketing because the headquarters usually markets on a national level. The franchisee (business owner) also benefits from the brand name. If consumers see a national commercial or recognize the logo, they are more likely to become customers.
As a downside, buying into one of the automotive franchise opportunities can be a huge investment. It costs a great deal of money up front so not all potential business owners can afford the investment. Another disadvantage is that automotive franchise owners are held completely accountable to their headquarters. Turning in all financial and business documentation is required from the franchisor (corporate office). Also, owners have to pay royalties and marketing fees to the headquarters on a regular basis. The amount of fees depends on the popularity of the brand name, which can be thousands of dollars per month. Business owners may not like the fact that automotive franchise opportunities also have specific rules, regulations and policies that each franchise must abide by. Some people prefer to run things their own way.
Keeping that in mind, it's very important to do an inventory of yourself before even looking into franchise opportunities. You may find out that owning a franchise does not fit your personality. If you’re a self starter and like to do things your own way, then you may want to steer clear of any and all franchise opportunities. Doing a personal inventory will reveal what you really want.

Choosing the Right Franchise

Choosing the Right Franchise
What is the best way to choose the right franchise business? The decision to buy a franchise business is a big one. You may wind up putting a lot of money on the line to buy that franchise. So it's critical that you buy the franchise that's right for you. The best place to start when considering franchise opportunities is with a business that you have always hoped to own. You may also recognize that your community needs a certain type of business, or that there is something missing in your town. Filling one of these gaps with a new franchise opportunity can be an excellent choice.
The second aspect to consider when looking at a franchise is the cost. The cost can be substantial, and all franchise opportunities' cost varies. One thing to take into consideration is the resources you have available. Many franchisors want the potential franchisee to have a certain amount of liquid assets before they will consider selling them their franchise. Lending options are another way to find those liquid assets. Do you have anyone that would help you invest in your business? having investors is yet another way to generate capital.
Can you afford the time required to make your business a success? Are you currently working a job? Will that job allow you the time to insure your franchise gets started and runs properly? These are important things you need to understand before jumping into a franchise business. Being with the business at the beginning is critical. No manager or employee is going to run the business the same way the person that invested the money. Make sure your can spend the time required to make your business a success.
The final aspect to consider is research. You should carefully research the franchisor before even considering entering into a franchise agreement. The franchisor should be able to provide you with all the relevant information, including costs up front. Even though that is the case, it makes good sense to get references, by visiting other franchises, or searching Google. You may even want to call the Better Business Bureau. The more positive information you can find on the franchisor the more confident you will be that this is a good opportunity. One more thing; make sure you find out what sort of training and support is available for new franchise business owners. The proper training is critical, but more importantly will be the support you receive after you pay for the franchise.

Many Business Franchises Rely on Location

Many Business Franchises Rely on Location
One of the great things about a business franchise is that it takes a lot of the work out of starting your own business. With many business franchises, promoting your company is already taken care of. If you are starting a McDonald's franchise, for example, you don't need to take out ads. Everyone already knows McDonald's and either likes it or doesn't. You simply have to have a restaurant in a convenient location where people drive past every day. The rest will take care of itself.
Of course, business franchises don't always work out the first time. Many business franchises simply don't have a good enough location at first. There are many people that open a business franchise and at first, it does all right, but after a few months they fold. Most franchisees, simply put, work too hard for not enough money. On the other hand, when the same franchisee reopens in a better location, business will take off right away. Soon, they are practically rolling in the money. Just by changing locations, many franchisees can turn their business franchise into one of the most profitable franchises in their town. Even though the franchisor takes a big cut of the profits, there is still plenty of money left for the franchisee.
How many times have you heard someone say location, location, location; location is everything. With some business franchises that's is so true, but with others, it does not matter. If you own a home based business franchise, it can prosper from any location, whereas, a McDonalds, Quiznos, or Burger King business franchise relies highly on its location. High traffic areas are a must for a lot of business franchises to survive. Without the proper location, a franchise can struggle and then wind up folding in a very short period of time.
A Franchise Solution holds a great reputation for the best business franchise information you will find on Google.

Find a Business on the Top 10 Franchises List

Find a Business on the Top 10 Franchises List
Finding the right franchise can be a challenge. There are thousands of franchise businesses available. Many businesses have made the top 10 franchise list at some time or another. If you're looking for a franchise business why not start by looking at some of the businesses that made the top 10 franchises list.
How about a health and fitness franchise?
In the 2006 rankings of the top 10 franchises, Curves, the women's health and fitness facility came in third place. They were down one position from both 2004 and 2005. Curves has been in operation since 1992 and began franchising in 1995.
Curves is the largest fitness franchise in the world with 10,000 locations worldwide. Curves Clubs can be found in 60 countries, including the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, The Caribbean, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, and we're still growing. They are the first fitness and weight loss facility dedicated to providing affordable, one-stop exercise and nutritional information for women.
Buying a Curves Franchise
There are two ways to buy a Curves franchise. One is to buy a new franchise territory where there is not currently a Curves in operation and open one. The other is to buy an existing Curves that is owned and operated by a Curves franchisee who is considering selling the franchise.
The availability of these two opportunities varies considerably by country. For example, there are some areas of the U.S. and Canada where new franchise territories are not available, but there are opportunities to purchase an existing Curves. In most other countries, there are a large number of available new franchise territories, but few, if any, existing Curves for sale.
Looking for an automotive franchise?
The Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting Franchise has been the leader of the top 10 franchises list, and continues to do very well.
Car enthusiasts love the Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting franchise even though they don't have to be experts to run this business. The Maaco system really takes care of everything. With this franchise you will not worry about being out in the market with no support. There is technical expertise available, market development, and even hands on training. Assistance is offered for real estate purchases and financing, and even crew training and recruitment aren't left for you to take care of on your own. Requirements for investment include $75,000 of liquid capital and a net worth of $300,000.
Another automotive franchise that has made the top 10 franchises list in the past is the Mr. Transmission Franchise.
The Mr. Transmission franchise has been considered by some as one of the best business franchises for car enthusiasts. Investment requirements include a total capital investment of $149,000 - $192,000 with $50,000 of liquid capital required. Third part financing is available and support and training are offered. Mr. Transmission franchises offer outstanding opportunities because they provide brand awareness, technical support, development programs, marketing support, management training and support, and much more.
Finding top franchise businesses is not hard, just type in "top 10 franchises" in Google. If you're looking for a franchise business, Google is the best place to find information. You can also find information about an alternative to buying a franchise business at http://afranchisesolution.com. This is not a franchise opportunity, but if it was, I'm sure it would have made the top 10 franchises list.

Promised the Moon with Your Home Based Business?

Promised the Moon with Your Home Based Business?

Don't feel too badly. Many people trying to start a home based business were promised the moon but have been left with a dim reflection of themselves in a pool of failure. It's tragic that over 95% of home business workers, who have been lured by the slick marketing of MLM or multi-level marketing companies, have had their dreams dashed and have become discouraged and quit trying. By the end of this article, you will learn the difference between a bad business model, traditional MLM and a superior business model that leaves no one behind and guarantees success in a home based business.

Traditionally, MLM companies have been primarily recruiting companies growing the ranks of their distributors to ridiculous numbers that can't support the business long term. The number of distributors grows too rapidly and they begin competing with each other for the same slice of the pie. In order to justify having so many distributors, the company charges astronomical prices for its products, so that everyone in the food chain can be compensated. Customers are then faced with buying what become luxury items instead of reasonably priced products. When that happens the decision to fill up the car or heat the home takes precedence and the MLM company sees a decline in sales. And then the worst happens. The companies distributors begin to fall by the wayside. Remember the 95% failure rate? It is inevitable that this will happen.

MLM companies are simply bottom feeders. They churn up the market, sign people up, get them to commit to expensive auto-shipments knowing that most recruits will quit after several months. But that's ok because they know that as people quit, others will continue to join. And somewhere way up high in the organization the founders are doing quite well for themselves. Unfortunately, the picture at the bottom is pretty grim. And to add insult to injury customers begin seeing equivalent products at major retailers or on E-Bay for 75% less.

The business model we have just looked at is premised on recruiting and duplication. In other words, new recruits are expected to perform at the level of the company's best performers who are usually professional, experienced sales people who live, eat, breathe, and sleep MLM. The average recruit is somebody who wants to make a little additional income and get a discount on their own products. The likelihood that they will ever duplicate their sponsor's success is very, very slim.

Now let's talk about the superior business model mentioned earlier. Why not focus on a smaller, leaner distributor organization for the home based business? Why not focus on growing customers and not distributors? Now there's a novel idea! Customers actually buy products and fuel the business with cash. Distributors aren't left with empty promises and hype. This model exists and is very successful, so before you find yourself buying the moon, use a little caution in selecting your home based business. A Popular Franchise Opportunity

A Popular Franchise Opportunity
A popular franchise opportunity is EmbroidMe. This franchise opportunity allows you to create custom-made apparel as well as merchandise which has embroidery on it. EmbroidMe uses the tagline, "Casually Dressing the World" in its retail showrooms. It aims to make their company known through all forms of medium, in corporate marketing programs as well as over the Internet.
EmbroidMe is outfitting their customers with creatively customized apparel, not just for work, but for play as well. They also offer all sorts of promotional merchandise as well as advertising specialty items.
EmbroidMe offers full service embroidery as well as screen printing and other promotional products to its customers. The EmbroidMe "empire" has over 250 stores all over the world. They have been rated #1 in the industry for four consecutive years as well as being one of the 50 fastest growing franchise opportunities according to Entrepreneur Magazine.
When it comes to training and support, the EmbroidMe company will assist in the demographic studies of the area that your EmbroidMe franchise will reside. A study on your site selection as well as assistance on lease negotiations would also be conducted. Along with you, the company will coordinate needed renovations that may have to be done to your store.
This franchise opportunity will also provide an excellent 4-week training program for you and your staff. Not only that, this franchise opportunity will also assist you in conducting interviews, hiring and training prospective employees. Since this is a service oriented franchise opportunity it is highly important that every employee must be able to comply and adhere to the franchisor's rules and regulations.
As an EmbroidMe custom apparel and merchandise franchisee, you gain the full resources of a team committed to helping make your store a success through continued training, consulting, marketing, research and technical support.
EmbroidMe is the most recognized name in the embroidery, screen printing, promotional products and personalized gifts industry.
EmbroidMe franchisees profit from the name recognition associated with being part of the world's #1 embroidery franchise opportunity.
The only problem I see with this type of franchise opportunity is the initial investment. The franchisor wants prospective franchisees to have a minimum of $40,000 to invest. I don't know about you, but that is a chunk of change. How many people have that kind of money laying around?

Is Your Franchise For Sale?

Is Your Franchise For Sale?
There are franchises for sale available every day. While most of them seem to be restaurant franchises, many other businesses are also seeing the same trend. There may be various reasons why a franchise is for sale, but the most common reason is that a successful businessman has already gotten bored with his franchise business. When a businessperson first gets started in business, they tend to take lesser risks. The path of lesser risks typically leads them to buying a franchise.
After a few years, when he/she learns the ropes of the business and gets more experience in handling the business, the businessperson would like more to do than just running an automated franchise. Any dynamic businessperson usually has the same mind set. With that in mind, the business person puts his/her franchise up for sale.
If you own a franchise business, and you have decided to put up your franchise for sale, the first thing you need to do is contact the franchisor. Remember, the franchisor sets the rules, and that also goes for selling your franchise. Don't worry: there is nothing to be embarrassed about.
Eventually, all of us need to move on in life, and so does the franchisor. The franchisor has already taken into account that some of their franchisees will sell off their franchises at some point of time. Their business plan takes this into account. There are many different reasons why a franchise goes up for sale. It may be anything and the franchisor may have heard it before, so go ahead and do what you need to do.
The franchisor may provide you with a starting sale price for your franchise. The franchisor may also have someone that has inquired about a franchise business in your area. The franchisor is the best place to get free advertising, and possibly some great prospects.
So, DO NOT be afraid to contact your franchisor. He/she may put some conditions on your franchise for sale. Most of these however will be in line with the current guidelines they have for giving out a new franchise. The franchisor would be looking for the ability of approving the new franchise and nothing else.

Buying a Franchise Can Be Very Rewarding

Buying a Franchise Can Be Very Rewarding
Franchise businesses are booming, and many economic analysts have identified them as the primary engine that will propel the U.S. economy. But is buying a franchise business right for you?
That, my friend, is a question only you can answer. Buying a franchise takes courage, a person with somewhat of a business mind, money and a commitment. Are you suited to run your own business? If so, then buying a franchise may be the right choice for you. On the other hand, if you're not suited to run a business, then buying a franchise may be a waste of your time and money. The option to the later would be only if you could find the right personnel to run your business, although that's not always the best choice.
Even though a franchise has been successful in another part of the country, it does not mean that it will do well in a community like yours. That's where it takes courage! How will the franchise business you're looking to buy be accepted in your community? If it's the first type of franchise in your part of the country, will it be accepted or rejected? Being the first business of its kind, in an area, can be very rewarding but at the same time can be very challenging. To keep it on the side of rewarding, I would advise you to do a market analysis. This market analysis will help in your decision making process, and also give you a good understanding of your marketplace.
Buying a franchise business may be your dream or goal, but before you spend any money, take a look at what the Ultimate Team has to offer; it will ensure long term success. Buying a franchise from some large corporation may not be the best for you. If you're still looking for an alternative, the Ultimate Team's system will ensure long lasting training and support. Buying a franchise has its advantages, but does not guarantee success. On the other hand, the Ultimate Team will ensure long lasting customers, which is a necessity for long term success.
The Ultimate Team knows all about franchise businesses, search engine optimization, and the importance of customers. Come to the Ultimate Team site to see if their alternative to a franchise business is right for you, or fill out the form below and someone from the Ultimate Team will contact you.

We're going to get rich! There are so many business opportunities available today that one can easily just throw their hands up in the air with total confusion. Just what is a home based business opportunity?
Most people will probably think of an MLM company when they are approached about a home based business opportunity. And we know what the majority of people think about those opportunities! Run for the hills!! In many cases this is true, but there are many good MLM companies where everyday people do actually make some money. The number of companies and opportunities are extensive. Look at e-Bay. People make money. Look at all the web sites where people sell someone else's product. They make money.
The opportunities are there, you just have to look for them. But look carefully. Some home based businesses cost thousands of dollars. Others may only cost a small monthly fee to have a web site. You have to decide what the right opportunity for you will be. You have to decide how much you want to invest. Gone are the days where you need hundreds of thousands of dollars to start a business, unless you are looking at a franchise. And there is nothing wrong with that, as long as you have the capital to invest. The strong point about franchises is their systems. Follow it and success follows.
Home based business opportunities also have systems to follow. For the most part they have lots of good ideas, however you must lean how to market your home based business to meet your own personal style. Sometimes you have to think and operate outside the box with some home based businesses, especially MLM's. By becoming a better marketer you increase your chances of success in operating a home based business. An opportunity is nothing unless you take action on it. Search until you find the home based business opportunity for you, then take action.

Marketing Your Work At Home Business

Are you a small business owner who runs an online work at home business? Are you currently satisfied with your profits? Even if you are happy with the money that you are currently making, you may be looking to make even more. You may want to examine the marketing tactics that you are using, if you are even marketing your business at all.
When it comes to marketing an online work at home business, you will often find that it is easier to market an online business than it is to market a storefront business. One of the reasons for that is because of the internet. There are a number of different ways that the internet can help you with the marketing of your online work at home business. A few of those ways are briefly touched on below.
One of the many ways that you can go about marketing your work at home business online is by using online message boards, which are also commonly referred to as online forums. Online message boards or online forums are communities where internet users are able to come together and discuss activities or interests they may share. There are many online message boards or forums that allow participating members to create a signature. A signature is a block of print that always appears at the end of a member's posts. It is not uncommon for an online message board moderator to allow signatures to include business links, like a link to your online store or online website. With using online message boards or forums, the more you post, the more exposure your online store gets. But be careful to post useful information. Don't just post blatant ads or you will most likely be banned.
Another way that you can market your work at home business is by joining a pay per click advertising program, like Google Adwords. What is nice about pay per click advertising programs is that, just as the name sounds, you only have to pay when one of your advertisements gets clicked on. This type of advertising arrangement may be able to save you a considerable about of money, when compared to paying a flat rate fee for an advertisement that may never even be seen, let alone clicked on. Also, by doing business with a well-known pay per click advertising program, like Google Adwords, you are less likely to experience problems associated with malicious clicks, as the programs tend to be carefully monitored, to ensure that you don't end up wasting money on the marketing for your small business. But be very careful to monitor your Return On Investment here - you don't want to spend more on Google Adwords than you are making on product sales related to Google Adwords ads.
In addition to paying for advertising, you may also be able to get free advertising by doing what is known as a link exchange. A link exchange is when one website owner, like you, agrees to display the online website link or banner for another website owner, free of charge, as long as they do the same for you. If you are looking for free or low-cost ways to market your small online business, a link exchange may be the perfect option for you. The only thing that you want to make sure you do is not exchange links with your competition. You want to try and make sure that all links can be connected or related to each other, in one way or another, but you don't want to end up generating income for your competition.
When it comes to running a work at home business online, standard internet searches may also pay a large role in the traffic that you and your website receives. That is why it is important that your website, whether it is used to sell products or services, is optimized for the search engines. This process is commonly referred to as search engine optimization or SEO. When it comes to search engine optimization, content is important. Your website needs to be filled with content that the search engines will pick up, as well as content that your visitors can read. If you need assistance with this, you may want to think about hiring the services of a SEO specialist or a professional content writer.
And the most important task: you need to be creating new keyword-rich content on a regular basis related to your niche. Set up a blog, or post to other blogs. Submit your articles to article directories. With a link to your website in the resource box of your articles, you are building up more great links to your website, and you are also starting the process of branding yourself as an expert in your chosen niche market. I cannot overemphasize the importance of this. If you want to be seen, you have to create useful content!
The above marketing approaches are just a few of the many options that you can use to help increase profits for your online work at home business. Tackle them one at a time, implement them all over time, and you will see an increase in profits.

What to do After Starting a Home Based Business

You have started your Home Based Business and you are determined to succeed and establish yourself as a successful home business entrepreneur. success is never given to you on a silver platter. You have to work hard, work smart, be passionate about your business and enjoy working at home. A planned systematic approach is needed to make your work at home experience, fun, enjoyable and also to fast-track your success. Here are some great tips that you can follow when setting up and managing your business.
First and foremost top priority should be given to establish a good home office. This is extremely important because it is going to be the nerve centre of all your activities. It will be here that you will be spending most of your time. It has to be equipped with all the necessary paraphernalia and with proper lighting and ventilation to make your work easy, comfortable and enjoyable.
The days when your boss told you what and how you should do are over. this is your own home business. Enjoy planning your business. Prepare a short term plan and a long term plan so that you can work systematically and methodically to achieve your goals. Plan it in a manner so that you make provision to accommodate certain aspects of your family life.
Perhaps one of the main reasons to start a home business was to spend more time with your family. Now that you have created that opportunity you certainly should take advantage of it and plan your work schedule in such a manner to spend more time with your spouse, kids and friends. You are the boss, you can choose your hours of work. So work hard, work smart and enjoy taking the kids to the school, the library and to other activities. This will boost the morale of your family members, bring happiness into your life and motivate you to work harder. Thus you will enjoy your work at home while ensuring success in your home business.
As a home business entrepreneur it is essential that you constantly upgrade your knowledge and skills. Utilize your free time or allocate some time for this purpose. These additional knowledge and skills will help you improve your business and increase the profitability of your business. Your knowledge and skills will soon be sought after by other entrepreneurs. This will bring you prestige, happiness and the desire to work at home will get a further boost.
Once your home business is up and about, one of your main priorities will be to promote your business. Unlike an employee working for a boss, you can lift your head high as a business entrepreneur and go about meeting local businessmen, community leaders and others who matter, on an equal footing and promote your business. Enjoy talking about your business at community functions, trade association meetings and at other functions. This aspect of meeting community leaders and others on an equal footing will bring you great joy and inspire you to achieve even greater heights.
There are many home based business opportunities available and often when someone is searching for the right one it becomes over whelming. No matter how difficult it may seem sorting through the many opportunities has to be done in order to find those that are legitimate. The goal will be to find the opportunities that are first of all legitimate and also that show proof they can produce the income you desire and are low cost options. The key to finding a good home based business is a business where you can acquire customers. There are several people who are successful working a home based business acquiring customers.

Aspects of a work from home business

The opportunity to work at home is not only becoming a great opportunity, but for many it is becoming a necessity. People may need to supplement their income or may even need to replace their current income. Regardless of the reason, one of the skills that will be required is the ability to use a computer efficiently. Don't be intimidated by using the computer. You will absolutely need it for some aspect of your work at home business, even if it's just keeping track of customers.
Many of the work at home opportunities are Internet based and so a computer is an absolute necessity. Believe it or not, using the computer in your work at home business actually opens the door to thousands and thousands of potential customers. You will be amazed at the power of the Internet in operating a home based business. If you don't have computer skills then your chances of success will be diminished.
There are many different aspects to computer use but the real technical ones are left for the experts. That's why they are experts, so they can help the rest of us. If you are going to work from home there are some basic computer skills that you will need. Probably one of the most important is to be able to navigate comfortably on the Internet. This includes using search engines and of course e-mail. You'll be surprised at the number of e-mails you will get. Lots will be junk mail but you'll learn how to get rid of that problem. Some may tell you that to work at home you will need to know HTML, the language computer programmers use. It's not necessary, but if you learn it then it is definitely a plus for you.
Working at home has almost become synonymous with working on the computer. Whether you work for a company that allows you to work from home or you have your own home based business, the computer will be one of the most, if not the most, important tool you'll use. Don't put yourself at a disadvantage if you plan to work from home. Take the time, make the time to develop your computer skills. If you start a home based business you'll be glad that you invested some time in improving your computer skills. You'll also be improving your probability of having a successful home based business.

Avoiding Work from Home Scams

When people are working long hours in very stressful environments it is very tempting to have a serious look at the work from home opportunities available, especially on the internet. One of the problems faced with this is how to discern the work from home scams that are out there waiting to catch you as their latest victim.
Work at Home Scams are positioned to trap even the most discerning would-be online entrepreneur with their get rich quick promises. Some even go as far as promising earnings of up to $1000 daily.
So how can you avoid the work at home scams?
Don't believe all that you read. There's no honest way to get rich quick. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is Don't answer spam emails. Many of the opportunities offered by this method are work from home scams Check if they have a land line or a direct way to contact the owners of the opportunity
Never send money without first investigating the company. Any legitimate company will answer your enquiries.
Alternatively you can search for them on Google and see if there are any negatives comments about them. You can often find sites on Google that are dedicated to exposing work from home scams.
Join forums and ask if others have heard of the company or know if they are genuine. Again - work from home scams tend to be well known by those who work regularly online
If the work involves creating and selling a product, make sure there's a market for it. Keyword research is the best way to ascertain market demand. Although this isn't necessarily a scam, it is a pitfall that can often be a problem for newbies.
How will you get paid? Some of the work from home scams I have come across make it very difficult for you to access your earnings, either by having a very high minimum payout or no way of paying you in your country of residence.
If the company requires money up front, make sure you are aware of their refund policy. If they don't have one, don't proceed. These are just a few of the precautions you need to take to ensure that you don't get caught by a work from home scam However although these precautions are necessary to protect you from falling for the work from home scams it is worth remembering that many people do make a living working from home. It requires a great deal of hard work and self-discipline.
There is no automatic pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Just remember to be careful who you do business with, and you too can work successfully from the comfort of your own home.

Under the Christian home based business mall heading we found the ten top choices in home based businesses. while this site offered some good articles and information it may likely be one of the Internet marketing ploys disguising themselves as Christian home based business resources simply because the term Christian suggests honor and trustworthiness to many. The Bible section is a category of quizzes one can take to test and learn about what the scriptures say about dozens of topics. The user can choose to test their bible expertise on finances, creationism, poverty, abortion, stem cell, world religions and many other subjects.

Avoiding Failure in a Home Based Business

Are you considering starting a home based business? Be prepared and accept the fact that you will make some mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, from the sales clerk at the local grocery store to doctors and lawyers. How we react to our mistakes is more important that the mistake itself. Operating a home based business takes business knowledge. As you learn and acquire business knowledge you will make mistakes along the way, but make corrections and move on. Simple as that. Where would we be if Thomas Edison had given up after his first mistake? In an effort to help people who are starting a home based business, let's look to see if there are certain mistakes that are common to the home based entrepreneur. If you know what to look for as you start a home based business then maybe you can avoid it all together or at least minimize the problems it may cause. Remember, you will make mistakes.
In looking for common mistakes I would like to mention two that I think affect many who start a home based business. The first one deals with learning. You must educate yourself on the many different aspects of operating a home based business. Does that mean you have to be an expert? Of course not, but you do have to take the time to educate yourself. The problem is that most people don't take or make the time to do this. A very big mistake if you want to have a successful home based business. Take action and get an education on running a home based business. By doing this you will avoid one of the major mistakes made by beginners. Keep in mind though that you can learn as you go. Don't wait until you think you have learned it all. Learn as you go.
The second common mistake made by those starting a home based business is that they don't treat it as a real business. Well, after all, it is being run from a small office in your house. And in many cases the room is also used for other purposes, like maybe a junk room! The start up cost of the home based business was probably under a couple of thousand dollars. And your friends don't take you serious when you tell them you now have a home based business. There are many circumstances that you can use to convince yourself that your business is not really a business. Don't fall into this mistake of not taking your business seriously. It is a business and treat it like on. If you want to make money you must have the proper mind set. Having a home based business can be very rewarding if you take it seriously. And you should take it very seriously.

How to Make Money Online

Where Should you start. Do you ever consider starting a home based business to make money only to be confused about how to get started. If you are primarily trying to make money online the confusion can be vast as the internet is a minefield of opportunities all waiting to grab you and take your hard earned money. Although there are generally start up costs involved, it is possible to make money without having to pay out any money at all.
One of the first things you need to do when planning your home business venture is to make a list of the things you are good at. What skills do you have? Do you have basic computer skills? Do you enjoy writing? Almost any hobby or interest can be turned into a home based business with a little ingenuity. Searching on Google for ideas is also a good idea as you will get to see what areas of business are already having some success making money online.
There are many excellent websites with forums that specialize in how to make money working at home. You can search for forums on Google. Once you find a few forums you can read the posts to get a better idea of the topics covered. Ask questions at the forums and just get to know others who share your interests. Registering for these forums is usually free. They usually have their own terms and conditions that explain the rules of the forum, it is advisable to read these carefully before you start to posting. Forum marketing is becoming very popular with many online entrepreneurs
Most opportunities require a computer, internet access, and a dedicated telephone line. If you plan to offer a service, you may have to pay for advertising costs, such as traffic sites, business cards, etc. However, with careful planning, it is possible to run a business with minimum investment. Once you start to make money you can begin investing more money into your business. The opportunity to make money working from home can be extremely rewarding. It is important to be organized and well informed and also to be prepared to put in long hours in the early days to get your business off the ground. I hope this has been some information you can use and has been educational on How to Make Money Online

Choosing the Right Business Franchise

Choosing the Right Business Franchise
You have several choices, if you ever decide to start a business, or buy a franchise. Franchise opportunities are everywhere. All you have to do is search Google. You could start a small business franchise that is based on filling a specific need in your community. For example, you could start a babysitting service or a house cleaning service. On the other hand, you may decide to open a small business franchise similar to one that you have seen in another city. This business may be different from anything else in your area.
Another reason that you would choose to start a small business franchise is to have a big name (brand) associated with your business. By doing so, this would help give your business a measure of legitimacy that it might not otherwise have. Buying a franchise not only gives you a measure of legitimacy, but also give you a measure of security. Having the support of a larger company is what some people prefer. You do not get that went you start a business on your own.
No matter what your reason, if you decide that you want to start a small business franchise, the first thing you need to consider is how you are going to finance the franchise. Franchise fees alone can run from a few thousand dollars to over a million dollars, depending on the type of business. In addition to the franchise fees, you will need to consider the cost of leasing the space you will occupy, and don't forget to account for other start-up expenses. Franchise fees and other start-up costs are in addition to the day to day operating expenses incurred from running any business. Getting a loan for the franchise start-up expenses will allow you to use your money as operating capital.
Make sure you understand how much it will take to not only get your small business franchise started, but also how much it will take to run the business on a daily or monthly basis. You don't want to short change yourself trying to make ends meet every single month. Running a small business franchise on a shoestring can be stressful. Take that from someone who knows all to well.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) will sometimes offer financing to start a small business franchise, although it may be easier to get a Commercial Franchise Loan. The terms for these loans may be more lenient for certain types of franchises. Even though the SBA is designed to help small businesses and start ups, they will sometimes look at the competitors in the area to decide whether they are going to loan you the money. Starting a small business franchise that's unique in your town may be a good thing. On the other hand, if you're trying to start a franchise like an auto repair shop or a dry cleaner, and there are other auto repair shops or dry cleaners in the area, they may turn down your loan.
Choosing the right small business franchise, in the right area can be beneficial in more ways than one. So it's important to do your research to find the right franchise opportunity, learn as much as you can about the franchisor, and to make sure how you're going to finance the small business franchise of choice.

Are you on schedule with your work or is your work at home business run like a fire department?

Keeping on a schedule when working on the internet can be beneficial. When you work at home you should make use of you time wisely and stay organized. Emergencies from time to time have a way of interrupting the best of work schedules; however with a well organized work schedule and good work habits, things should go pretty smoothly. From time to time it is required that you have some quiet time to think and discuss the possible problems that you are having is a cause of a hectic work environment. If it is really serious you may need outside evaluation just to get organized and on the right track. Maybe nothing more than a minor change; or or that the root cause of your problem is lack of or poor communication. It could also be caused by misunderstanding. Possibly it's caused by lack of work assignment, or incomplete tasks.
You may find that written procedures may be required. If a picture is worth a thousand words, maybe that's all it will take. When writing procedures write them for the specific job not for the person. Leaving out the persons name will enable you to give a written procedure to any person saving future time in producing a procedure for a new person. Since you are operating a work from home business you will find that having written procedures may from time to time be very valuable if you have to outsource any of your work. If it is a proven procedure and produces the results you want it could save you costly oversight errors in your results with outsourcing your work or assigning to a new person.
Just a few areas of consideration for business procedures would be in the following areas: Of course administration should be considered to cover your absence for what ever reason, a what to do in case you aren't right there to handle a situation. Accounting is a very important area and can go from very simple to complex. Customer service, shipping and purchasing. The list will grow with your growth and having good written procedures will be a tremendous aid to your development of your home based business.
You may want to consider keeping a daily log of tasks to complete, on a notepad, so you will not get distracted and stay focused

When You Should Start a Home Based Business

Because of the economy and the state of the internet, everything indicates that right now is the time to start a home based business. A few of the reasons would be a savings of time and money. The cost of gasoline is out of sight. Continued at its present rate maybe a bicycle shop might begin to do well. Have you checked the prices of bicycles lately. They cost nearly as much as a 1920's autos. Ironic isn't it. Of course the value of the dollar back in the 1920's had gold in back of it; and today, nothing of value is behind the dollar. You can't go to the bank and demand gold for it.
Do you have a back yard that you could use for a garden? You might consider a back yard nursery for growing plants. Actually you could even develop a rooted cuttings wholesale supply. There is actually a demand for these products and small back yard nurseries could go a long way in supplying this demand. Believe it or not small nurseries buy lots of rooted cuttings and there is always a demand for them. This kind of operation could be successful without your neighbors even knowing about it. Your customers wouldn't be coming to you home, you would be shipping your products. Actually this same technique could apply to many other home based business operations.
A good way to start anything would be to do searches on Google on your various interests. You will find all kinds of things going on with the internet. Just a word of caution, beware. If you are thinking of using the internet in your home based business you might consider becoming educated in the Google SEO (Search Engine Optimization) operations. Unless you are prepared to pay an arm and a leg for advertising an investment in SEO techniques will save you tons of money. The concept seems simple but the application is another story. Witnessing SEO in operation is really an exciting adventure.

Franchise Questions

Franchise Questions
Will you be happy as a franchisee? Can you make the money you need to provide for yourself and your future? Where do you even start, with thousands of franchise opportunities available? These along with many other questions will surface as you begin your quest to find the right franchise business.
Before you even begin searching for franchises, you need to do a comprehensive evaluation of your own strengths and weaknesses. The best way to start is by sitting down, getting out a pad of paper and a pen, and as objectively as possible answer these eight questions:
1. What part of your current and past jobs have you liked doing the most?
2. Are you an animal lover? Auto buff? Artistic? What skills/hobbies do you have that may be applicable to a franchise business?
3. Are you status conscious? Does it matter to you what the product or service of the franchise is or does the business potential matter more?
4. What part of your current and past jobs have you liked doing the least?
5. Do you have experience managing employees? Did you enjoy it, and are you comfortable with recruiting employees?
6. How much capital do you have to invest? Can you afford to do without a regular income during the start up phase of your new business?
7. What are your financial goals?
8. Owning a franchise is all about following someone else's system. Can you picture yourself executing a system you didn't create?
These questions cover a variety of categories, including your strengths, weaknesses, management skills, and your financial situation. Answering the questions listed above, will probably lead to additional questions. If so, write down the questions and your answers. You will also begin to get a clearer picture of your gifts and talents. You may also see what you can bring to a franchise business and what you expect to receive in lieu of your talents/financial investment.
Once you have done an in depth evaluation of yourself, the next step is to start looking at franchise opportunities. Evaluating franchises, based on your answers to the questions, will give you a better understanding of the franchise business that is right for you. It may take some effort to find the right franchise so don't get discouraged and by all means, don't choose a franchise that does not fit your profile.

Work At Home Now

There is a growing trend amount people to look at was that they can work at home instead of traveling back and forth to a job. As more and more people begin to look into a work at home opportunity the number of scams that are on the Internet increase. People always looking for a way to take others people money by scamming them.
For those that are looking to work at home they need to enter the arena with there eyes open wide the proceed with great caution. One needs to take a triple look at anything and everything that seems to be a good fit for them. It never hurts to spend the extra time and effort up front to protect ones self from the sharks.
In my searches thorough the Internet I have come across some things that need to be placed on ones warning list. I have tried to included a few items that I feel everyone should take notice of and keep in mind when looking at trying to work at home:
RUIN YOUR REPUTATION! You can involuntarily sell your customers terrible quality merchandise or nonexistent products and services.
WASTE VALUABLE TIME! You may throw away countless hours on worthless projects that cost you a lot of money to attempt and complete, but, in the end, give you nothing in return.
Beware of falling prey to tempting work from home promotions that offer "easy money." You could be at risk for some very bad consequences. You can:
BE A TARGET OF LEGAL ACTION! You can be held liable for perpetrating a fraud by deliberately or even unintentionally promoting and selling fraudulent products or services to others which could ruin any work from home business.
The main thing that you need to be aware of is that, if you jump on the first thing that comes along without doing the research the odds are that you have a 99% chance of the venture costing you money. If there was one thing that I could say about work at home jobs is that you need to just be careful, and make sure that you do an indepth and complete reseach on everything.

A Franchise Business Plan

A Franchise Business Plan
Owners of both independent and franchised businesses are called upon to make entrepreneurial decisions each and every day. Decision-making is part of the package called business ownership. When pursuing the franchise purchase decision, make sure you put on your entrepreneur's hat. It may be what convinces your franchisor that you are the right one for the system.
Pursuing an independent business requires a business plan, but how about when pursuing a franchise business? Is there a reason to have a franchise business plan? If so, why? Doesn't a franchise business already have a plan set in place?
Is there a big difference between a traditional start-up business plan and a start-up franchise plan? Essentially, the franchise business plan must combine components of both the franchisee and the franchisor. A franchise business plan, in effect, merges elements of both companies. If you're trying to come up with such a plan, be sure to cover the following eight basic categories, which according to inc.com, is very important. You may notice that some are slightly different from those found in traditional business plans.
* Abstract. The abstract in your franchise business plan is briefer than an executive summary. It serves as a prologue.
* Business summary. This summary retrieves the omitted subjects of a conventional executive summary and combines them with elements of the traditional company description. Nothing is left out, just rearranged.
* Franchise overview. The overview replaces the usual industry analysis.
* The market. Treatments of the market and the competition combine to form the market section.
* Marketing plan. Marketing and sales strategies are conventionally included together in the marketing plan.
* Management qualifications. Essentially the same as in traditional business plans, this section describes your management staff and your operational framework.
* Financial pro formas. Also a traditional section, it groups together your financial projections for the first year and for a longer range of three or five years.
* Exhibits. This final section is where you put supporting documents needed to evaluate your business plan - either to support information in other sections or to provide auxiliary information not covered. If you have lots of exhibits, consider inserting some in the sections where they apply.
Inc.com also writes, if the goal of your franchise business plan is to secure financing, include a specific category that doubles as a loan request or as an investment offering proposal.
Whether you're pursuing a franchise business or an independent small business having a business plan is important. Knowing what is expected, not only of yourself, but also the franchisor, helps in the decision making process. No business should ever start without a business plan. Even if you're considering a small home based business, you should have a business plan. The plan will give you a good perspective of what is expected, both short and long term.

Top 10 Franchises Back in 2006

Top 10 Franchises Back in 2006
Want to buy a franchise on the leading edge of business, technology or innovation? Below is a list of the Top 10 Fastest Growing Franchises.
Thinking about buying a franchise this year? Many entrepreneurs try to avoid the fastest growing franchises in their purchasing decisions, fearful of market saturation and increasing competition in the marketplace.
In fact, fast-growing franchises are a plus for entrepreneurs looking to invest: these are companies willing and able to work with new franchisees, as evidenced by their track records and financial successes. Additionally, the costs associated with being a franchisor for a fast-growing company are (generally) lower than less established franchisors, and the name-brand recognition is high.
Many different web sites post a list of the top 10 franchise opportunities available each year. They usually compile and present a short history, capitalization information, number of franchises and contact information for each of the franchises ranked. For the year 2006, only twenty percent of the top 10 rankings went to food-related franchises, five of the top ten are cleaning franchises and the remaining 3 places go to real estate, health and fitness franchises.
Here is a list of the top 10 fastest growing franchises of 2006:
1. Subway: Franchise startup costs: $75,000 - 223,000 with $15,000 of that as franchise fees. All U.S., Canadian and foreign regions considered or available. 8% royalties.
2. Jan-Pro Franchising International Inc. (commercial cleaning): Franchise startup costs (from web site): "On average, the cost for a Master Franchise territory or major metropolitan area is based on $17,500 for every 100,000 in population." Canadian and U.S. regions available, with these locations already taken. 10% royalties. Also #8 on the Top 20 Low-Cost Franchises according to Entrepreneur Magazine.
3. Dunkin' Donuts: Requires liquid assets of $750,000 for 5 franchises, with $1.5 million total net worth to open a franchise. Also has specific demographic, site and lease requirements. Great franchise territory map which lists territories available as well. 5.9% royalties.
4. Coverall Cleaning Concepts: Franchise startup costs: $6,500 - 36,000 with $6-32,000 of that as franchise fees. All U.S., and Canadian regions considered; internationally only master licenses are available at this time. 5% royalties. Also #20 on the Top 20 Low-Cost Franchises according to Entrepreneur Magazine.
5. Jazzercise, Inc.: Specific franchising and business-related costs to expect for first-time franchisees listed here, including "initial franchise fee of $1,000 in the U.S. and $500 in other countries" and monthly franchise fee of 20% of all revenues. One of the most inexpensive franchises to buy into (#12 according to Entrepreneur Magazine).
6. Jackson Hewitt Tax Service: Complete franchise investment calculated for interested parties here; small markets franchise fee is approx. $10,000, medium markets $16,500 and regular markets are $25,000. Also #1 on the Top 20 Low-Cost Franchises according to Entrepreneur Magazine.
7. RE/MAX International Inc.: Franchise startup costs: $25-199,000 with $13-25,000 of that as franchise fees. All U.S., Canadian and International regions considered. Royalties vary. Also #2 on the Top 20 Low-Cost Franchises according to Entrepreneur Magazine.
8. 405 - CleanNET USA Inc.: Franchise startup costs: $11,300 - 34,100 with $8.6-16,300 of that as franchise fees. All U.S., Canadian and International regions considered. 3% royalties. Also #13 on the Top 20 Low-Cost Franchises according to Entrepreneur Magazine.
9. Bonus Building Care: Franchise startup costs: $7,200 - 13,600 with $6,500 of that as franchise fees. All U.S., Canadian and International regions considered. 10% royalties. Also #10 on the Top 20 Low-Cost Franchises according to Entrepreneur Magazine.
10. Jani-King. (commercial cleaning): Franchise startup costs: $3,900 - 36,000 with $3-32,000 of that as franchise fees. All U.S., Canadian and International regions considered. 10% royalties, however, as stated on their franchise web site, "Jani-King offers new Franchisees a range of fees based on the amount of initial business offered by the local Regional Support Office." Also #3 on the Top 20 Low-Cost Franchises according to Entrepreneur Magazine.
It seems like the cleaning industry started to really take off in 2006. Some of the same top 10 cleaning franchises of 2006 still remained in the top 10 in 2007 and 2008. That is one industry that continues to grow, probably because they are a little more affordable then your typically food franchise. The only problem I see is the need for employees willing to get dirty, and how many of those people are around today?
The Ultimate Team has a low cost business opportunity that will produce a nice income for the years to come. They will never make the top 10 franchise list, because they are NOT a franchise business, but if they were I'm sure they would be on the list. Franchise for Sale - Advice?

Franchise for Sale – Advice?
I would have to say that a lot of members of the Ultimate Team would agree that buying a franchise for sale is better than starting your own business from scratch. Why? All franchise businesses already have a system set in place that is proven to work (or at least they claim that it works). You should buy a franchise if you're not good at generating a business plan or coming up with marketing strategies. You should buy a franchise if you're not good at sales. Marketing strategies and sales should be covered in your typical franchise business. Both of these subjects should be addressed before buying any franchise.
Buying an existing franchise (a franchise for sale) is similar to buying an existing small business. It can be a faster and safer way for you to own your own business, providing everything is in order. When you buy an existing franchise you may pay a premium, but the advantages usually offset any extra cost. First and foremost, this franchise business is already open and doing business. Generally speaking, they should already have a considerable customer base. Other advantages of buying a franchise that is for sale are, established track records, cash flow, and goodwill. You may also find that financing is easier to secure for an existing franchise with positive cash flow, than you will for a new, unproven franchise.
There are many advantages with buying a franchise for sale just as there can be many disadvantages. Finding a quality franchise for sale may be the tough part. make sure you spend some time researching the franchise that is for sale before signing any papers. Doing so will save you lots of headaches in the long run.
The Ultimate Team has an alternative to a franchise business that fits just about everyone's wants and needs. Their alternative system will not cost you your life savings, yet can be very profitable in the long term. The Ultimate Team's system will ensure long term success, providing you follow the system guidelines. The Ultimate Team will also ensure long lasting training and support. Considering a Business Franchise? Find a Mentor.

Considering a Business Franchise? Find a Mentor.
Considering a small business franchise, to turn your dreams into reality? That's a tough task! Make sure you seek out someone who is familiar with business franchises, and if that person is honest and is a person of integrity, heed their advice. Share your concerns, and most definitely, ask plenty of questions. A person that has had, or still has, a business franchise can be invaluable to you. Finding the right person can be just what the doctor ordered. They can help you with your decision making process.
When talking to that person, make sure you are clear about the reason you want a small business franchise. Is it a business that will give you a day to day job, or simply a sound investment that will put others to work. Also share what your ultimate goal is. Some small business franchises demand that you own and operate your business while others allow you to hire the personnel to run your business. Your mentor can help you with theses and other concerns.
If you're unable to locate a mentor, or someone that's willing to share his or her experiences with you in person, try to find some advice online. Whatever path you take, never sign papers without talking to someone experienced with a small business franchise. Do your due-diligence. Either search Google, or ask the franchisor for referrals to receive the best possible advice.
Here is one site you may want to check out, afranchisesolution.com.

Franchise Opportunities Information Online

Franchise Opportunities Information Online
Franchises offer franchisees the advantage of starting up a new business quickly, based on a proven system of doing business. Good franchise opportunities offer a turnkey business: from site selection to lease negotiation, training, mentoring and ongoing support as well as statutory requirements and troubleshooting.
This allows a franchise owner (franchisee) to operate a business model that works, is predictable and has a better chance of turning a profit. This gives franchises a business edge because they can focus on growing and running their businesses without tripping over common small business startup stumbling blocks.
It can be confusing when potential franchisees seek out information on franchise opportunities online. Although there are plenty of web sites, articles, and franchise business opportunity directories on the Internet, which ones can you rely on to tell your the truth? One rule of thumb, if they DO NOT have their contact information on the site, move along.
Here are some other questions you should be asking yourself, before even moving forward with your online research:
1. Do you have enough money to purchase a franchise? Most franchise offers have a projected return of investment period. However, this does not mean that you will recoup you money on the specified time. Have the money to spend on at least three months or more on your business after the stated ROI period.
2. Do you have the right personality for a franchisee? Franchisees often have to work within a specific set of rules or guidelines. That's why franchisees have to be ready to follow the company’s operations manual by the book. If you have your own ideas and you have a habit of experimenting with them, you might find the franchise opportunity's rules and regulations too restrictive for your entrepreneurial spirit.
Once you've decided to look into franchise opportunities, you need to do some research on the franchisor as well. Is the franchise organization financially sound and stable? Are the products or service ideas competitive enough to withstand changes in the market? More importantly, is the product or idea sellable in your area? If the parent company goes bankrupt while your business is still up and running, what will you do? This is the reason you should always check the annual growth records of any franchise opportunity you may be considering. Ask for the statistics on the growth of the franchise as well as the growth of the individual franchisees under the system.
Doing the research early on can save you plenty of heartaches latter on.

Buying a Franchise is Simple, or Is It?

Buying a Franchise is Simple, or Is It?
Want to be your own boss, work from home, or just make extra money? If so, you may be tempted by an ad for a business opportunity. Before you open your checkbook, check out the offer. Fraudulent business opportunity promoters use the classifieds and the Internet to tout all kinds of offers, from pay phone and vending machine routes to work-at-home businesses like medical billing and envelope stuffing. Too often, these ads make promises - about earnings, locations, merchandise, or marketability - that sound great, but aren't truthful. The result: consumers are getting ripped off, losing money instead of making it.
You can start your own business from scratch, or have a turnkey operation by simply buying a franchise. The choice is yours. Choosing from thousands of franchise and business opportunities, in practically any field of your choice, is a simple way to get started. But, how do you differentiate between what is a good deal and a bad deal, or a good franchise and a bad franchise? What is a legit business opportunity and what is a scam?
With all of the information available on Google, you would think that it's pretty simple! RIGHT?
Buying a franchise, to start with, takes courage and lots of money. There are companies, and/or individuals ready to separate your from that money. Make sure you do your research on both the company and the principals. The research you do today can save you and your family heartache in the future. Buying the right franchise can help you achieve your financial goals. On the other hand, buying the wrong franchise, or buying into the wrong business opportunity, can cause tremendous stress, pain and suffering.
Buying a franchise is a popular thing to do nowadays, although buying a franchise has never appealed to me. It always felt like I was buying my own job. The amount of investment combined with the amount of work to put in simply does not match with my personal lifestyle. I would rather invest a bit less and work less hours but with a much faster payback time.
I can't stress enough the importance of protecting yourself, and/or your family, by spending the time to do the proper research. Don't be tempted by some exciting business offer you saw on television, or read in the newspaper. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! The scammers are out there, so be aware! Buying a franchise is a process; make sure you follow the proper steps to ensure happiness.
